kikidoll

Aloha and greetings from the tropical island paradise of Waikiki Beach, Hawaii where Kikidoll Swimwear presents ‘Honolulu Honi’, its newest collection of luxury designer Hawaiian/Pacific inspired swim, cruise and resort wear. Kikidoll shows her native Hawaiian roots in a strong graphic collection of Polynesian prints featuring island and sea motifs in soft color ways, as well as a vibrant tropical palette of solids. The line has been expanded to include more than 70 pieces: 12 styles of ruffled, frilled, draw-stringed and sarong-wrapped bikinis, 2 cut out and cut away one-piece suits, and more than 20 styles of laid back luxe ‘after beach’ attire: mini beach skirts, embellished sundresses and traditional but sassy Hawaiian muu muus, jewelled and beaded tunics and hooded silk ponchos, embroidered tees and even a designer rash guard. Using accents of coconut shell, sea shell and mother of pearl beads to reflect the oceanic and organic elements of the Pacific, each piece is crafted to be interchangeably mixed and matched within the collection.

Born in Honolulu, Kiki uses reference points from the islands’ lush flora, fauna and sea life, as well as its rich history and culture when designing and painting her exotic and dreamy prints that later become textiles for her collection. A cast-away cut-away shell at Waikiki became her registered trademark, and is now engraved on all her custom-made metal hardware for the line. Tribal paintings on bark cloth in the Bishop Museum in Honolulu; the crest of a double wave; tiki gods at the luau; angel fish blowing bubbles in Hanama Bay and the handcrafted wooden and shell Sailor’s Valentine boxes made by whalers in the past century as sweetheart gifts make up the inspiration for the graphic patterns for this collection. Taking the hues of island sunrise and sunset, deep Pacific tones and soft floral pastels, Kikidoll’s color board mirrors the shades found only in these latitudes. Each Hawaiian bikini is constructed of the finest materials to allow perfect fit and comfort.

A beach and water girl through and through, Kiki has ensured that each fully-lined piece adheres to the highest standards for rigorous water sports such as surfing, swimming and paddling, while exuding feminine, trendy glamour without fuss. There are matching ruffled, wrapped and draw-stringed beach skirts to pull on after a day shredding the waves or just lounging beachside.  Silky soft tees, ponchos and tunics with hand-beaded and embroidered flirty slogans like ‘wish you were here’ take the beach look streetside for an evening out. Sundresses and playful muu muus in baby soft fabrics and colors are beaded and jewelled for low key sparkle. Every design element of Kikidoll is crafted in homage to an idyllic childhood spent on Oahu, where swimming in the Pacific and crawling in the sand preceded taking first steps, and Diamond Head glittered like a jewel on the curve of Waikiki.

Kikidoll swimwear is proud to distinguish its commitment to being a Hawaiian luxury swimwear line wholly designed and manufactured in the United States for beachgirls everywhere.
