Indah, the meaning of beauty in the Indonesian language, continues to experiment with and push the envelope on traditional Balinese techniques combining the best of the old world with new innovation for a modern collection. Indah's new Exclusive Collection embodies everything beautiful about the Balinese lifestyle - tropical color palettes, soft silhouettes and unique handiwork technique that only the Balinese can do so beautifully.  The capsule collection consists of cover-ups, mini and maxi dresses, rompers, separates and swimwear all designed, sourced and produced on the island of Bali.  Celebrity fans include Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton and Audrina Partridge.

The handiwork featured in the Indah collection includes multiple art forms:

• Salt: A process where sea salt from the Indian Ocean is thrown onto the dip-dyed fabric to “drink” in the dye leaving a pattern. The salt is re-used again and again during the process.

• Wave: A truly “soulful” process created with shagged paintbrushes to create an outline followed by the use of sponges, which are used to fill the saturated color.

• Mirage: A form of tie-dye where the base piece begins as a lighter color, which is then folded, tied and over-dyed to create a Mirage design.

• Heart: The Heart is drawn on the fabric using a wax crayon then gathered and tied so it remains white as the rest of the fabric is dip-dyed. It is then untied and dipped in another color. There are many possible color combinations.

• Krawang: Hand-made lace that is a true art form.  First step is to hand print the design on the fabric with chalk, which shows the sewer where to create the lines. Sometimes the fabric is embroidered and sometimes cut to make lines out of space, which makes the lace. The process was used to create the “Butterfly” top in this collection.
