Celebrikini Sightings - Brooklyn Decker in Australia

brooklyn decker

24 year old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covermodel and Victoria's Secret hottie Brooklyn Decker chilled out in her black bandeau bikini by her hotel pool in Sydney, Australia the other day. She was there to promote her new film, "Battleship" -- but we think she actually looks more like a sleek yacht. What do you think?

Oyster NYC Swimwear Collection scores a slam dunk

Oyster NYC is a cool emerging Brooklyn-based swimwear line that combines classic silhouettes with modern details. They like to use unexpected color combinations in their swimwear, and aim to flatter real body types. The Spring 2012 "Jump" Collection begins with jewel tones that people have in their wardrobes, but often overlook in swimwear. The inspiration for the collection came from old travel ads, dance-wear, and 80s urban culture and music (especially Cameo and ESG). Designer Francess Jaen tells Bikini.com, "I kept thinking about the female charaters in old Spike Lee films, (think "She's Gotta Have It") and the basketball court theme just fell in line. We shot at our local court in Brooklyn, using the painted lines as graphic props (which was influenced by the hard graphic lines used in a lot of mid-century modern ads). We wanted to challenge the the idea that swimwear needs to be shot in exotic locations with busty, bombshell models." (Ok, the Bikini.com team admits we might sometimes be guilty of that.)
"The Oyster customer is not interested in being overtly sexy, but sex appeal comes through in her confidence. Keeping the shoot clean and simple really made the colors of the swimsuits pop, and that is what we wanted to keep the focus on", adds Francess.

Modern vintage swimwear by Oyster

OYSTER is a new swimwear line that is designed and produced in Brooklyn, New York. Combining classic vintage silhouettes with modern elements, designers Bianca Linder and Francess Jaen create unique and well-crafted swimsuits with unexpected color combinations. The company pushes boundaries in subtle ways, finding balance between timeless shapes and quirky details. The designs are all about combining the femme fatale with the tomboy, taking inspiration from nature, culture and even the seemingly mundane. The designers want women to feel comfortable and confident in their clothes, and revel in pushing the boundaries of personal style.
