The Intoxicators rock The Hukilau
One of Bikini.com's favorite surf bands, The Intoxicators, played at the annual Hukilau event at Fort Lauderdale's legendary Mai-Kai restaurant this past weekend. Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, The Intoxicators music is a raw combination of classic surf, rockabilly, and space surf, with a little bit of intellectual stimuli thrown in at the right moments just to make things interesting. With the dual guitar attack of Gary Evans and George Dyal, the thundering bass of Adam Watson, and the caveman like pounding and Shriner fez wearing drumming of Brian Crum, the band has played shows and festivals around the south such as The Hukilau (Ft Lauderdale, FL), Drive Invasion (Atlanta, GA), and Tiki Torch Nights (Atlanta, GA).
Bikini.com's enchanted night at the Hukilau kicked off with drinks & music in the Mai-Kai's nautical Molokai Bar, then moved to the Mai-Kai’s main dining room for an exotic feast, followed by the Mai-Kai’s famous Polynesian floor show. Tiki celebrities spotted at the festivities were celebrity mermaid performer MeduSirena, beautiful hula dancer Lady Poi, King Kukulele "The Most Incredible Ukulele Player on the Planet", and The Hukilau's co-founder Tiki Kaliki. After dinner, everyone enjoyed the rock surf sounds of The Intoxicators and then strolled the exotic and lush outdoor gardens with vows to do a Bikini.com photo shoot there one day soon.
